| The wet weather of
recent days relented to give a dry clear day leading up
to the ceremony for turning on the Christmas lights,
Thursday 27th November 2003 at 6.00 pm. An estimated 6-700
people attended. Father christmas turned up in the fire
engine with lights flashing. Music filled the square and
hot mince pies were handed around on trays to the
celebrators. The crowd and children in particular seemed to enjoy themselves, with not a few miniature flashing christmas trees to be seen, adorning heads in the form of seasonal hats. Click on
