Neil Shearer
Neil is originally from
Leeds and now lives in
Waterlooville. He has
always had a natural
ability to draw, and this
is one way in which he is
able to express himself
through his art work.
The main media in which
he works in is Pen &
Ink, either as line
drawings or using dots as
pointillism. He also
paints in acrylics.
Neil spent 4 years
growing up in his teens
in New Zealand where a
large part of his
inspiration has come from,
especially the Maori
people and the tribal
facial tattoo called Moko.
Another aspect of his
inspiration comes from
the Native American
Indian culture and their
animal totems, especially
the Eagle and other birds
of prey.
Neil says, I enjoy
the pointillism drawings
of faces, especially the
Maori, Native American
Indians, other native
cultures and warrior
tribes as I feel I can
capture their characters
in a very different way.
After serving in the
armed forces for over 13
years he is now doing
what he loves best. Being
creative in his full time
work as a picture framer
and being able to spend
more time developing and
creating more of his
unique style of art work.
Neil is also happy to
undertakes commissions
and hopes to have an
exhibition of his work in
the near future. |
